Why we made it this way
Giving a baby the button changes what the toy teaches. Instead of watching lights that an adult started, a baby presses, something happens, and the connection between the two gets made again and again until it is obvious.
Seven colour modes sounds like a specification and behaves like a reason to keep going. A baby who has learned the press will sit through every colour to find out whether there is another one.
Volume steps are worth reading before the first use. The lowest setting is intended for a cot-side evening and the highest for a room with other children in it; most families settle two steps up and leave it there.
